About Dr. Raman Mehrzad
Dr. Raman Mehrzad, MD, is a medical doctor, scientist, author, professional speaker and businessman presently living in beautiful northeastern state of Connecticut.
“Dr. Raman”, as he is typically called, was born in Tehran, Iran, and moved to Sweden at the age of two. He and his family settled down in Angered, a suburb outside Gothenburg, Sweden. After primary and high school, he pursued a Bachelors of Science degree in Biological Science, Mathematics and Programming, and maintained a 4.0 GPA (grade point average) throughout his curriculum. Upon graduation, he was accepted to medical school at the University of Gothenburg, Sahlgrenska Academy, and was honored to be one of the youngest students ever accepted to this prestigious university program.
In parallel with his medical studies, Dr. Raman joined a research team at the institution for Biomedicine at age 19, and pursued four years of laboratory research on the subject of viral replication and infection in humans.
After graduating from medical school in 2012, he was one of a few select doctors to be accepted to a position in the highly-competitive medical residency training system here in the United States.
As a result, Dr. Raman was simultaneously offered research positions at Massachusetts General Hospital, along with the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, both of which are official hospitals of the Harvard Medical School.
He recently graduated in June 2015 from his Internal Medicine residency program at a Tufts University School of Medicine -affiliated hospital and is currently practicing specialty medicine at a distinctive and well-known hospital in the New England area.
In conjunction to his physician work, he is currently pursuing an Executive Master of Healthcare leadership at Brown University, and an MBA at Isenberg School of Management, at the University of Massachusetts.
Dr. Raman has done research in various fields including surgery, cardiology, gastroenterology, immunology, infection disease and neurology. He has also done research in, technology and pharmacology. Altogether, he is currently the author of 18 peer reviewed scientific articles, and is the first author in 16 of them.
Dr. Raman has presented his research at some of the largest scientific meetings in the world, such as at the American College of Gastroenterology’s annual research meeting, the American College of Cardiology’s annual research meeting, and at the Digestive Disease week.
Dr. Raman is the author of four books, two of which are in the field of education and are best-sellers, and one which he co-authored with a plastic surgeon and is about how to optimize your health. In Sweden, he is known as the “study guru” and is a master in assisting students achieving higher educational performance. He has helped thousands of students achieve their educational goals.
Dr. Raman is also the founder/CEO of A-Student Consulting, a consulting firm helping students improve their educational performance. Moreover, he recently created and released a mobile phone application: “Straight A’s”, which is extremely popular among students.
