Importance

Some studies has suggested that shift work has been linked with coronary heart disease (CHD).

Aim

To assess whether rotating night shift work is associated with CHD risk in women

Results/conclusion

Among women nurses, longer duration of rotating night shift work was associated with a small increase in CHD risk. However, the author states that further research is warranted to evaluate whether the association is related to specific work hours and individual characteristics.
