Coffee has been found to have many health benefits. Studies has shown that it reduces risks of heart disease and parkinson’s disease for instance.

Scientists at Karolinska Institute in Sweden investigated the insulin producing beta-cells and discovered new mechanism for insulin resistance. The objective of the study was to find out how a cell or an organ can be insulin resistance in one biological function and insulin sensitive in another.

To assess whether coffee drinkers live longer.  The study demonstrated that nonsmokers who drank 3 to 5 cups of coffee a day over a 30 year period were 15% less likely to die of any cause, vs. those who did not drink coffee. Researchers found that both regular coffee and decaf drinkers were linked to live longer. Lower rates of dying was from heart disease, stroke, neurological conditions, and suicide were seen.

Coffee may reduce the risks of different diseases which may prolong survival.
